Godaddy Cares About Charity and Technology

Godaddy Cares Charity logo

Godaddy.com is the largest registrar for domain names and website hosting globally. The Godaddy company currently is 12 million customers strong, manages more than 55 million domains, and has 4000 employees to date. It operates customer service operations 24/7 from nine locations worldwide, these include facilities in the United States and India. Godaddy uses it's influence to support their local communities, by offering their contributions as a charitable patron.

This recently has led to the creation of Godaddycares.

As an extension of the Godaddy corporate entity, a new philanthropic arm of the company has been formed calling itself Godaddycares. As a company, Godaddy stresses their belief in their responsibility to impact change within their regional communities. They see Godaddy as a corporate citizen and place their primary focus on localized charitable causes, meaning organizations located in the same regions as their physical business locations. The philanthropic pursuits of Godaddy are specifically housed within the umbrella of Godaddycares and it's official website godaddycares.com.

The Godaddycares charity sponsors groups that exist locally within the states of Arizona, Iowa, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., and other areas within the United States. These are currently states where Godaddy has regional locations, but the list is ever expanding. Godaddy makes contributions from the direct earning of their corporation from domain name registration and web hosting. The company prefers donating to charities that support animals, children, women, science, and technologically relevant issues.

All donations funded by Godaddycares come directly from Godaddy earnings.

Anyone purchasing products or services from Godaddy is donating, although the allocation of money is handled by the company. Charitable contributions of money are made by Godaddy directly, but the company also encourages employees to get involved with community organizations. Their goal is to be active where people play, work and live together. Godaddycares allows for local organizations to apply for charitable eligability, based on their geographic scope, classification, and other factors. Currently Godaddy does not assist with grants or similar philanthropic requests. The company also does not include any products or services in their charitable donations, stating that their prices are already reasonable enough.

Godaddycares is most concerned about the needs of the Godaddy corporation.

Extending itself to the surrounding communities is a noble gesture by Godaddy, but also to be expected. What appears to be a mission of goodwill, equally serves as a substantial tax break for the company and has as much selfish intentioned motivations. This does not mean that no good comes from Godaddycares, only that every corporate entity seeks to gravitate towards philanthropy, as it grows large enough.

In truth Godaddy cares about charity and technology, like any good corporate citizen should. Supporting community giving and employee volunteer programs, Godaddy guarantees itself stability within those communities where it resides. Work, money and resources offered back to the local Godaddy community, also guarantees that their employee base will remain strong in the coming years. Godaddy realizes what it takes to be a successful business, but knows that it serves the public.
